The total cost
A submission-ready passport photo, taken at home and printed at any kiosk, costs roughly $4 – $5 total:
- $3.99for the digital JPEG sized to your country's template, plus a 4×6 print sheet (this site).
- $0.13 – $0.49 to print the 4×6 sheet at any pharmacy or big-box retail kiosk.

How the 4×6 print sheet works
When you finish processing a photo on this site, the export bundle includes two files:
- The single passport photo JPEG, sized exactly to the issuing authority's pixel envelope (e.g. 600 × 600 px for a US online renewal at 300 DPI). Use this for online forms.
- The 4×6 print sheet PNG/JPEG, containing 2 – 8 copies of the same photo arranged on a single 10 × 15 cm canvas with light cut guides at the corners. Use this for physical submission, embassy interviews, or multi-application use.
Where to print the 4×6 sheet
Per-print prices in the US as of 2026. Outside the US, look for any "4×6 photo print" service — the layout works at every shop using standard 10 × 15 cm photo paper.

Print settings that matter
- 100% scale. Do notenable "shrink to fit", "fit to page", or any zoom — that scales the photos down and they fail the dimensions check.
- Highest quality / 300 DPI. Modern kiosks default to this; home printers need it enabled explicitly in the driver dialog.
- Glossy paper, 200 gsm+. Photo-quality paper, not regular office paper. Kiosks default to glossy automatically.
- No auto-enhance.The photo is already sized and balanced to spec. Disable any "auto fix" or "photo enhance" setting in the kiosk software — these shift skin tone and push photos off-spec.

Every other passport-photo service ties you to their print infrastructure: you pay for staff, paper, and ink at their markup. We separate the work — we handle the precise digital compliance (which requires the spec database, the ML background tools, and the print-sheet layout engine), and you handle the actual printing at whichever retailer is closest or cheapest. The result is the lowest total cost across every option we've been able to find:

How do I print the 4×6 sheet I download?
Upload the sheet to any photo-print service as a regular 4×6 photo. CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, FedEx Office, and Costco all accept it as-is. Print on 4×6 glossy paper at the highest quality / 100% scale setting — do not enable any 'shrink to fit' option, which scales the photos down.
How many photos are on the sheet?
Between 2 and 8, depending on the country's photo size. US (2×2 in) fits 4 per 4×6 sheet. UK / Schengen (35×45 mm) fits 6. China visa (33×48 mm) fits 6. Indian passport (35×35 mm + 35×45 mm) fits 6 – 8. The sheet always includes light cut guides at the corners.
Can I print the digital file at home?

What if I only need the digital file (online submission)?
You still pay $3.99 because we include the 4×6 sheet at no extra cost — but you can ignore it and submit only the JPEG. Online passport renewal portals (US, UK, India, Schengen) all accept the JPEG directly. The 4×6 sheet is included for free in case you change your mind or need physical copies later.
Do retail kiosks reject 'composite' photos?
No. The 4×6 sheet is a single image with multiple identical faces — that's not a 'composite' for kiosk purposes. The kiosk treats it like any other photo print. We've designed the layout to match the standard 10 × 15 cm paper size every kiosk uses worldwide.
Can I save the print sheet and use it later?
Yes. Most authorities accept a photo taken within the last 6 months; you can re-print copies of the same approved photo throughout that window. Store the source JPEG (not just the printed sheet) — re-printing from the digital file preserves the resolution.
