Chinese passport photos use the same 33 × 48 mm format as Chinese visas, with identical head-height (28 – 33 mm) and head-width (15 – 22 mm) requirements. Background must be plain white. Chinese passports issued in 2026 onward include a biometric chip with a stored face template, so the photo must pass automated face-landmark detection at submission.
